A panel of distinguished experts will discuss what it was like to grow up in Redlands during the 1920’s, 1930’s and 1940’s. They will explore what a typical day was like for a child in the 1920’s. How the Depression Era affected their families and daily life. What was school life like at Redlands High School. They will also look at how World War II changed the lives of families in Redlands. The meeting will start at 7:00 p.m. in the Assembly Room of the A.K. Smiley Library.

On Monday evening, January 23 the Redlands Area Genealogical Society will be presenting a program on the Civil War Veterans that lived in Redlands. Ron Running and his group of volunteers have been researching the lives of all 151 veterans that are buried in the Hillside cemetery. Come and learn about the diverse and interesting lives of these remarkable individuals. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. in the assembly room of the A.K. Smiley Public Library at 125 West Vine Street, Redlands.

A walking tour of historic Hillside Memorial Park will be lead by Tom Atchley at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 22nd. The tour will begin in front of the old mausoleum and will be approximately one and one-half hours long. Cost is $10/person.
